An apple a day keeps the demons at bay.
An apple for today, been having a tough week this week. I seem to be doubting myself and my art. I know its just one of those weeks. Been looking at many other styles and artists websites and wondering how i am ever going to "make" it and how to find my style.
Anywho, far to deep for a Friday morning.... i started this one after my IL friday pic. Its just a quicky and i seem to want to rush these ones .. but i find i REALLY enjoy these pen and ink ones i have been doing from time to time. I am considering developing this style a bit further maybe these can be the ones i sell online /ebay and my larger more involved pieces can be my ones to sell in other avenues ??
I know the main thing is i am enjoying it and i seem to be drawn to this type of style on other websites. its something that doesnt take as long as a full cp piece so people with a lower price point might be attracted to it? just my mumblings..as i said far tooo deep for a Friday morning. Oh did i say today was Friday ? WOOT weekend tomorrow :) yay !

I go through those times too! It seems like it's up and down. One week I feel confident and excited, and the next I'm worried and full of self-doubt. Keep encouraged Belinda! You really do have a gift and I know that you will find your way. Follow your heart and do what you love the best.
:)
***It's still Thursday for me!
I'm right there with you and Kasie, Belinda. Just this week I saw a piece online by someone else and thought "who am I kidding?" But I just told myself to shut that window, don't take another look, and get coloring! :-) And, I do know what you mean about the pen and ink stuff. I love it. I very often do those when I get discouraged. As well, it is really nice to turn to something that takes skill but you don't have so much riding on. :-) Hang in there, as Kasie said, you will find your way. Already you are spending more time on your art, blog, etc. You are moving in the right direction.
I love this one. It has nice form and very descriptive strokes. Looks good enough to eat.
We all have slumps and self doubt, I grab the pastels. :)
Jo
hey cool apple! your line work is wonderful as always - keep up this style:)
Great apple, Belinda! I like this style and I also love your coloured pencil work.
As for self-doubt....believe me, you are not alone. I often look at other artists' work and ask myself why I even bother trying to paint. Then, an angel in disguise will come along and leave a lovely compliment on my work and I start to think that maybe I'm not so bad after all. Just draw, colour and/or paint because it's what you love to do and the rest will follow.....believe in yourself! :)
Thankyou, so much everyone for your words and understanding. Sometimes it really does feel like your standing here alone :) It really does help.
Thanks again.
Oh, I'm a little late here but please take heart Belinda. I go through the same thing about every other day! You do wonderful work that has been very inspiring to me and I'm grateful for artists like you who so willingly share their artistic process, ups, downs and all!
Thankyou so much Ann :)
